JERUSALEM – Bishop Munib Younan met with the heads of churches at the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem today to give his Easter greetings. Ten of the thirteen heads of churches were present, as well as priests and Bishops from Jerusalem. The Lutheran delegation to the meeting included Bishop Younan, Propst Wolfgang Schmidt, representative of the Evangelische Kirche Deutschland in Jerusalem, the pastors of the English Speaking Congregation and Special Assistants to the Bishop, Revs. Angela and Martin Zimmann, Rev. Saliba Rishmawi of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Reformation in Beit Jala, Rev. Jari Honkakari of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission (FELM), and Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Jerusalem representative Rev. Mark Brown.

During the Salt March that he led on December 3, 1930, Gandhi picked up a handful of earth and said: “Britain can crush this hand. Nevertheless, salt will remain the eternal question of India”.
On the Land Day, Palestine commemorates those holding firmly Palestine’s soil in their hands; they are the martyrs, peasants, children, and people who are resisting Israel’s occupation of Palestine through holding the soil and stones of Palestine firmly in their hands.

JERUSALEM – The leaders the Christian Churches of Jerusalem invite the faithful from around the world to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, extending an ecumenical appeal to visit the churches and to “walk with the living stones of this land, following in the footsteps of the Risen Christ”.
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” (Matthew 28.6)
We, the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem, bless our faithful people in this region and the people of God everywhere in the name of the risen Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

JERUSALEM - Leaders of Christian churches in Jerusalem in an Easter message on Tuesday urged believers around the world to visit the Holy Land.
"As heads of churches in Jerusalem, we call upon all Christians from around the ecumenical world to come and visit with our churches and walk with the living stones of the Holy Land in the footsteps of our risen Lord," said the heads of 11 Christian faiths in the city in a joint statement.
