Citing “sound fiscal management,” the evaluation firm Charity Navigator has awarded its highest rating of four stars to the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation.  It is the third year in a row that HCEF has been given that coveted rating.

In a letter to HCEF, Charity Navigator’s President, Mr. Trent Stamp, wrote that HCEF had earned the top award because of “its ability to manage and grow its finances.”

Mr. Stamp stated that Charity Navigator evaluates ten times as many non-profit organizations as the next largest evaluation firm, and that only about nine percent of them receive its highest rating for three straight years.  HCEF’s third consecutive four-star award indicates that HCEF “outperforms most charities in America in efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible,” which “demonstrates to the public that it is worthy of their trust.”

Commenting on the award, HCEF President Rateb Rabie attributed much of the foundation’s efficiency to its idealistic, dedicated employees and volunteers.

“Our small staffs in Bethlehem and Bethesda, Maryland, work hard for only modest compensation,” Mr. Rabie said, “and our volunteers in the Holy Land and throughout the United States work thousands of hours each year for no pay at all.  Those ‘Ambassadors of the Mother Church’ are the ones who have earned this award.”
