HCEF is pleased to announce that our Child Sponsorship is now partnering with Mar Elias Educational Institutions, the schools founded by Abouna Elias Chacour. Abouna Chacour was recently consecrated as Archbishop of Galilee for the Melkite Greek Catholics. The kindergarten, founded in 1968, was the first of the schools. Mar Elias Educational Institutions now includes all grade levels, including university.  The elementary school was established in 1978. The current principal is Ms. Nawar Musallam. The high school was established in 1982. Mr. Asem Khoury is principal of the high school. There are now 1,890 students enrolled in the kindergarten through high school, approximately 1,000 of whom are Christians.

HCEF seeks to preserve the Christian presence in the Holy Land. HCEF's Child Sponsorship Program aims to provide both financial and personal support in Christian solidarity for a child in the Holy Land to receive a Christian education in one of its Christian schools. The financial proceeds from sponsoring Christian students at MEEI will be provided to the school system in order to support all the students' education. HCEF also facilitates the exchange of letters between sponsors and students thereby fostering greater understanding and solidarity between Christians in the Holy Land and Christians in the West. According to HCEF President Sir Rateb Rabie, KCHS, By sponsoring a child you will be contributing not only financially, you will also be contributing to, peace, reconciliation and understanding between the three monotheistic religions.

Sponsor a child at MEEI for $25 monthly, $75 quarterly, $150 semi-annually or $300 yearly.
