• HCEF Annouces the appointment of three committee chairpersons

The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) announces that it has appointed chairpersons to three new organizational committees in response to the demands created by the increased awareness of American Christians to the plight and suffering of Christians in the Holy Land. Dr.Jad Daniel will chair the Development Committee, Francois Quinson will chair the Membership Committee and Julia James will chair the Newsletter Committee.

• HCEF Annouces the Election of Two New Members to the Board of Directors

The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) announces the election of two new members to the Board of Directors: Father Drew Christiansen, previously on the Advisory Board of HCEF, and Dr. Robert Younes. Don Kruse was elected Executive Vice President and Dr. Younes was elected Secretary of the Board of Directors. The addition of two new board members reflects the growing American interest in, and concern for, the suffering of Holy Land Christians, Rateb Rabie, HCEF president said in announcing the new members of the Board of Directors. In addition, Paul Zurkowski resigned his position on the Board of Directors.

• The Holy Land Christian Support Network of HCEF announces the establishment of two new committees, one in Detroit, Michigan and the second in Houston, Texas.

The Holy Land Christian Support Network (HCSN) of The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF), in response to the increased awareness of American Christians to the plight and suffering of the Arab Christians in the Holy Land, announces the establishment of two new committees, one in Detroit, Michigan and the second in Houston, Texas.

• Build Solidarity with Children of the Holy Land by Sponsoring the Education of a Child

The Child Sponsorship Program for Christian Education in the Holy Land is beginning its first full academic year. As many of you know, the Child Sponsorship Program for Christian Education in the Holy Land was officially launched the week before Easter in a pilot program, which proved to be very effective and efficient. We are ready for an effort to enlist new sponsors and develop renewed solidarity between American Christians and the indigenous Christians of the Holy Land.

• Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Invites HCEF President to Attend Papal Holy Land Visit

In his invitation to Mr. Rabie, the Latin Patriarch took special note of the work of HCEF stating his "sincere appreciation for all what the HCEF is doing for the promotion of the cause of justice and peace in the Holy Land, and especially for all that you are doing to protect the Christian presence in this land. • HCEF elected two new directors.

The Board of Directors of the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation Has elected two new directors: Fr. Peter Ruggere, a Maryknoll priest, and Mr. William R. Mapes, Jr., an attorney and partner in the Washington law firm of Ross, Marsh & Foster.
